5 EASY Ways To Become A Consistent Tennis Player (anyone can do)
Tennis is a game of percentages. Even the best tennis players in history win roughly 55% of entire points they play. That means that every little helps.
Being more consistent than your opponent is often enough to win matches, at any level.
5 EASY Ways:
1. Step one in being more consistent is your mindset. Having the right mindset means that you're willing to out-rally opponents. It means that you're willing to go for less power, but reduce the amount of unforced errors you make.
2. Step two is to eliminate the net. To take the net out of play. This can be done by increasing your net clearance and hitting with a high trajectory. This is something that Rafa Nadal does so well on clay.
3. Step three is to eliminate the lines. You don't need to hit lines to win tennis matches. Aiming a few feet inside either line is always a good strategy to reducing your unforced error count.
4. Step four is to play the percentages. When constructing a point from the baseline, the highest percentage play is to hit crosscourt 80-90% of the time. By hitting crosscourt, you'll have more space to hit in to, you'll be hitting over the lowest part of the net (six inches lower than the net posts) and you'll be closer to the ideal recovery zone.
5. Step five is to use your technique to help you gain the edge. This means using your legs to drive on the forehand and backhand. This means to adapt to the oncoming ball.
