In a power-packed edition of our latest popular weekly feature, we start with the BHA showdown - or summit - held this Monday that could no less decide the future of British horse racing.

Labour party insider and successful business leader and organiser Lord Allen was due to start his job as BHA Chief Executive many weeks ago now, but after deciding to more fully consult with the sport's many stakeholders given doubts about the industry's governance structure he is still not seated in his new position. A highly significant meeting on Monday between all relevant parties is likely to go a long way to prove a conclusion answer as to Lord Allen's appointment and the future direction of the sport. What will happen?

Other topics include the 'Racing Tax' - essentially, a consultation by Government to 'simplify' betting and gaming tax by raising all sports, not just horseracing, to the higher level of 21% (currently 15%) and therefore bring the sport into line with tax thresholds on casino and games of chance. Is the sport adopting the right position in its attempt to persuade government to exempt racing from the proposed rise before the Budget in October? The BHA has estimated that the sport could lose £66m per year if taxed at the higher rate.

Further topics of discussion include several high-profile horses leaving the stables of 14-time champion trainer Paul Nicholls in Ditcheat, including multiple Cheltenham winner Ginny's Destiny along with some promising younger prospects, while our panel also ponder the prize money boost to the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot making that all-aged middle-distance Group One the richest race in Britain next year.

This week, regular host Nick Luck is joined by Daily Mirror journalist and Racing TV pundit Dave Yates and regular ITV commentator and Racing TV presenter Richard Hoiles.
