The Shergar Cup is supposed to be a bit of fun on a summer Saturday but the annual jockeys' challenge this year delivered unexpected controversy.
The latest edition of The Front Page, featuring Lee Mottershead, Chris Cook and Liam Headd, looks at Maureen Haggas's criticism of the standard of jockeyship at Ascot and asks whether she was right to argue some of those who took part should not have been included in the competition.
The panel also reflects on weekend Group 1 glory for Billy Loughnane, Oisin Murphy and Kia Joorabchian before examining the changes announced in British racing's 2026 fixture list and an intervention by former prime minister Gordon Brown on the gambling tax debate.
