The Lucinda Russell-trained Apple Away enjoyed a first success over fences, opening her account in good style at Leicester under Derek Fox.
The six-year-old culminated her hurdling career with Grade One glory in the Sefton Novices' Hurdle and made a satisfactory chasing debut when third to the exciting Grey Dawning at Haydock on her seasonal return.
Sent off the even-money favourite for this assignment, she jumped with aplomb and readily came clear to record a decisive 31-length success.
She is now 14/1 for the Mares' Chase and 20/1 for the Brown Advisory at the Cheltenham Festival.
