The Lion In Winter is the big Betfred Derby hope at Ballydoyle, but the exciting Delacroix - winner of the Autumn Stakes last season and beaten just a nose in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes on his final start - is not one to discount for Epsom after a fine return for Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien in the P.W. McGrath Memorial Ballysax Stakes.
The O'Brien runners - admittedly from a small sample - have been needing their first outings in the early stages of the season so Delacroix's win is arguably one worth marking up and he did it in style here, while this beautifully-bred colt should get a mile and a half - he's by Dubawi out of brilliant American racemare and Breeders' Cup winner Tepin, but his half-brother is a winner of the Prix de Royallieu over 1m6f in France.
25/1 for the Epsom Classic before this race, Delacroix is now into 10/1 as he advertises his Derby claims at Leopardstown.
