Impressive point winner Jalon D'Oudairies is now two from two in bumpers and yet to face defeat in any race and now finds himself at the top of the Weatherbys Champion Bumper market at the Cheltenham Festival after a fine success in the Leopardstown Christmas Festival finale for jockey Harry Swan, trainer Gordon Elliott and owners Gigginstown House Stud.
The four-year-old kept lengthening inside the final two furlongs to keep at bay the high-class Redemption Bay, an impressive winner at this race last year who went to the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham subsequently before finishing a narrow second in the Punchestown equivalent.
Elliott is clearly excited about his young prospect, telling Racing TV's Gary O'Brien: "We're looking forward to seeing what happens over the next couple of weeks and he goes straight to Cheltenham."
