He hit his leg against a flat granite rock at a speed of about 193 km/h (120 mi/h), breaking both his ankles, three toes, and his fibula, tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament, and requiring a skin transplant.
2. Armin Schmieder, Kandersteg Mountain, Switzerland, 2016: Italian extreme sports enthusiast Armin Schmieder was live-streaming his wingsuit descent from Kandersteg Mountain in Switzerland in 2016 when he crashed. The nature of his injuries was not detailed, but they were fatal.
3. Alexander Polli, French Alps, August 2016: Famous BASE jumper Alexander Polli died in the French Alps in August 2016. He was performing a wingsuit flight and crashed into a rock at high speed. He was one of seven people who died jumping from the same spot that year.
