Ricky Karcher had the wildest debut in MLB history. It was wild in two ways: his complete absence of command, as well as the high stakes situation he was thrust into for the Cincinnati Reds, facing off against the Kansas City Royals on June 12, 2023.

That Reds Royals June 12 2023 matchup was already memorable before Karcher showed up. Salvador Perez hit a late homer to force extras, but TJ Friedl scored in the top of the 10th to put Karcher in a save situation. A real one, mind you, not any of that Wes Littleton Save silliness.

Karcher faced Bobby Witt Jr., Michael Massey, Edward Olivares, and Maikel Garcia in that order. You'll have to watch this episode of Baseball Bits, a Foolish Baseball production, to see if Ricky Karcher can record a Ricky Karcher save in the Ricky Karcher game.
