Munetaka Murakami helped lead Japan to a gold medal during the 2023 World Baseball Classic. In the championship game against the U.S., Murakami crushed a 115.1 mph, 432-foot home run off then-D-backs right-hander Merrill Kelly. He also ripped a 111.0 mph walk-off double off the wall against Giovanny Gallegos to complete Japan's comeback win over Mexico in the semifinals.
