I decided to break this at bat down for you guys. It’s very simple, not doing anything fancy. Just trying to get a good pitch and execute my feel!

Live at bat versus a AAA arm. This was about two years ago. At this time my home field Miami Dade was 430 feet of centerfield, this ball left out of left center on a line. I would love to know the numbers on it. I’ve posted bits of this before but here’s the full at bat. During this time I was the most locked-in I’ve ever been. I was hitting around 400 and I was leading the nation in home runs at the time. I was consistently squaring balls up and producing high exit velocity, all while feeling like I wasn’t trying. It’s hard to notice, but in my stance, my arms felt tension free. Especially my front arm, it was almost limp. I felt like my front hand was just dangling on the bat. My goal was to load my front elbow straight back to the catcher and hit the ball with my back leg. I wasn’t sitting on pitches. I was just letting the ball come to me and hitting it with my back leg. I could adjust to breaking balls and I was quick to fastballs. I felt balanced and controlled. I swung at about 75% and adrenaline do the rest.

It doesn’t matter who is on the mound the ball has to cross the plate. If the catcher can catch it you can hit it. All pitchers are the same because they have to throw the ball to you. Now just stretch and catch.
