Florida State vs. Virginia: The 5th-seeded Florida State Seminoles advanced to the semifinals with their 12-7 win over the 4th-seeded Virginia Cavaliers in pool play at the 2024 ACC Baseball Championship. The Noles plated 7 runs in the inning on 7 hits that included a controversial no-catch call on a great play made in the outfield by the Cavalier's outfielder Bobby Whalen that resulted in a 2-out 2-RBI triple by Daniel Cantu. ACC Player of the Year James Tibbs III went 2-3 with a home run and 5 RBI in the win. FSU pitcher Jamie Arnold had a fantastic start, allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 9 batters.
